House Washing in San Francisco
BeforeAfterThe problem
A tall stucco elevation on a San Francisco home with heavy green algae growth spreading up from grade and across most of the lower two-thirds of the wall. This is the classic fog-belt pattern: the wall gets very little direct sun, stays damp for long stretches, and the growth advances further up every season.
How we approached it
Stucco is porous, so high pressure is the wrong tool — it drives water into and behind the surface and can open hairline cracking. This was a soft wash: detergent applied at low pressure, given time to kill the growth at the root rather than knock the visible layer off, then rinsed down. Plants at the base were pre-wet before starting and rinsed thoroughly afterward.
The result
An even grey finish across the full elevation with the green gone rather than faded. Because the conditions that caused it — shade and persistent coastal damp — do not change, walls in the fog belt need attention more often than an inland property. The homeowner had the roof and the rest of the exterior done in the same visit.

I hired Peninsula Exterior Care to wash the roof and the entire exterior of my house in San Francisco, including all the walls, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Habib was professional, punctual, and paid close attention to every detail. The roof looks clean, the exterior walls look almost new, and the whole house has a fresh, well-maintained appearance.
If you're looking for house washing, roof cleaning, or exterior house cleaning in San Francisco, I highly recommend Peninsula Exterior Care. Habib explained the process, worked carefully, and left everything spotless. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the pricing was fair. I will definitely use Peninsula Exterior Care again and recommend Habib to anyone who wants high-quality exterior cleaning.
Habid just finished soft washing outside of house and washing windows including outside porch and banisters. My house is a single story, 1915 CA craftsman's house. I hired him because he I had the option of a non pressurized wash. Because my house is old, I didn't want to use too much pressure. He is meticulous and provided a fair price for all the work he did. No damage at all to the stucco or wood from the washing. It turned out great! I see he does other soft and pressurized cleaning. I will most likely be hiring him again for my sidewalk and brick patios.
