Gutter Cleaning
Clogged gutters cleared and downspouts flushed, so rainwater actually drains away from your home instead of over the side and into the foundation.
The problem
A clogged gutter doesn't just overflow. It sends water straight down your siding, pools it at the foundation, and in a wet Bay Area winter that's how you end up with stained stucco, rotted fascia and drainage problems that cost real money. The gutter itself also gets heavy — packed wet debris pulls fasteners loose and sags the run.
Why timing matters here
The Bay Area gets most of its rain in a concentrated window. Gutters that are fine in September fail in the first serious December storm, because everything that dropped through fall is sitting in them. Clearing before the rain starts is the entire point — cleaning them in January means the damage already happened.
What's included
We clear leaves, needles and debris by hand rather than blowing it into the landscaping, flush the downspouts to confirm they actually drain, and bag and remove what comes out. We check for sagging sections, loose fasteners and separated seams while we're up there and tell you what we find.
Tree cover drives everything
Properties under oak and redwood canopy — most of Atherton, Woodside, Portola Valley and Los Altos Hills — accumulate debris much faster than open lots. Those homes often need a mid-season check on top of the standard twice-a-year schedule.
How often you'll need it
Twice a year is the standard: once before the wet season starts, once after it ends. Heavy tree cover means three times, and it's still cheaper than repairing fascia.

BeforeAfterFrequently asked
When should I get gutters cleaned in the Bay Area?
Late fall before the rains, and again in spring once trees have finished dropping. If you only do it once, do it in the fall.
Do you haul the debris away?
Yes. We bag it and take it with us rather than leaving it in your yard or blowing it into the beds.
Do you clean gutter guards?
Yes, though guards still need periodic clearing — they reduce how often, not whether.
Will you tell me if something's damaged?
Yes. We're not roofers or gutter installers, but we'll photograph anything that looks like it needs attention so you can get it looked at.
